Service Description
Butter Dish Workshop Making: Friday, November 6th | 6:00–8:00pm Glazing: Friday, November 13th | 6:00-8:00pm Create a beautiful, functional piece for your table in our Butter Dish Workshop! During the first session, you’ll work with clay to create your own handmade butter dish, learning handbuilding techniques to form, assemble, and personalize your piece. Add texture, decorative details, or keep your design clean and classic—the finished piece will be uniquely yours. You'll return the following Friday for the second part of the workshop, where you'll glaze your butter dish using colors from our studio glaze collection. We'll take care of the firing from there. And the timing couldn’t be better! Your finished butter dish will be ready to use in time for Thanksgiving, making it a special handmade addition to your holiday table. It would also make a thoughtful one-of-a-kind holiday gift for someone on your list. Workshop Schedule Making Session Friday, November 6th 6:00–8:00pm Glazing Session Friday, November 13th 6:00–8:00pm What's Included: Workshop tuition includes two visits to the studio, instruction, clay, use of studio tools and glazes, and both firings needed to complete your butter dish. Come make something beautiful, functional, and perfectly timed for the holiday season. Your finished pottery will be ready for pickup about one week after glazing. Once fired, properly glazed pottery is food-safe and made to be used and enjoyed for years to come. Pieces will be held for 30 days, after 30 days they will become property of Sarasota Clay Company. By appointment only. Registration is per participant. Online registration with payment is required to secure your spot. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early. Classes begin promptly at the scheduled start time, and late arrivals may miss important demonstrations. (To Schedule, click "Book Now" then click "Check Next Available" ) What to bring: -Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty (clay is fun and messy- you will get clay on you!) -Light snacks and beverages* -Long hair pulled back for safety -No expectations! Cancellation Policy
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early. Classes begin promptly at the scheduled start time, and late arrivals may miss important demonstrations. CANCELLATIONS Students must cancel at least 48 hours before their scheduled appointment or class to avoid a cancellation fee of 100% for the service cost. If you have an emergency and cannot make it to class, please give us a call at (941) 359-2773. In the rare event the studio has to close unexpectedly, make-up dates will be provided. There is a minimum of 4 people for a Date Night Class to run. In the event a Date Night Class does not reach the minimum 24 hours prior to the class, clients will be fully refunded or contacted to reschedule for another date. FEES Prices listed include a 3% convenience fee on the order total and applicable sales tax on clay and supplies. *Prices, rates and fees are subject to change COLLECTING YOUR WORK Your finished pieces will be ready to pick up 2 weeks from your appointment date. Please call ahead of time to make sure your work is ready. Pieces left for more than 30 days will become property of Sarasota Clay Company. LIABILITY Sarasota Clay Company and its employees are not liable or responsible for any accidental injury to students or any loss or damage to personal possessions. PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO Sarasota Clay Company reserves the right to take photographs and video recordings during classes, which may include students and their work. These images and videos may be used for promotional purposes in any media, in perpetuity, without compensation to students. FINISHED WORK Every effort is made to support students in producing well-made pieces.
